Fraser High School Pasifika Senior Camp

Aiga Tasi Y13 Senior Leadership Camp

At the start of every year our Y13 Aiga Tasi Students go on a Leadership Camp to prepare them for their final year of study at Fraser. Through fun and interactive activities and workshops our students organise activities for the year such as Pacific Language Weeks, A1 Assembly Gatherings and Tutor Group Challenges. Our students also receive training on how to mentor our new Y9 Students.

Fraser High School Official Lavalava

ie faitaga / Sulu / Tupenu

In 2017 our Pasifika Student Leaders and Families met to begin the process to see how we could include the ie faitaga/sulu/tupenu as official school uniform. In 2018 Mrs Crawford and the Board of Trustees approved our proposal and so we met with the school uniform suppliers to organise the Fraser School Lavalava.

Wearing the School Lavalava gives our students pride to represent their Pacific heritage and it is also cost effective for our Pasifika community. The Fraser Lavalava logo was designed by our 2018 Aiga Tasi Student Leaders.

Aiga Tasi Fanau Celebration Evening

At the end of each year, our Aiga Tasi students and community come together to celebrate the academic, cultural and sporting achievements of our tamaiti. Our Fanau Celebration is also a wonderful opportunity to showcase the beautiful performances from each Pacific Language Week.

We are very fortunate to have local organisations and families donate gifts and trophies to be awarded such as The University of Waikato, Wintec, K'aute Pasifika Trust, The Waikato Museum and TOPA - Talents of the Pacific Academny. We have also been blessed to have guest speakers such as:

Portia Woodman (NZ Sevens & Black Ferns Rugby)

and the Minister for Pacific Peoples Hon. Aupito Su'a William Sio.

Aiga Tasi Supper Plate Fundraiser

Every year our Aiga Tasi Parent Teacher Association organises our annual Supper Plate Fundraiser. All funds help to pay for our student's activities throughout the year and also go towards our End of Year Aiga Tasi Fanau Celebration Evening. We are grateful for the support of all our Aiga Tasi families and especially our PTA Fanau Group.

Fraser High School Kilikiti

In 2018 Fraser High School hosted Waikato's first-ever Kilikiti Tournament for Primary, Intermediate and Secondary Schools. In 2019 we were blessed to have the support from the University of Waikato who are now the official sponsors for our Waikato Schools Kilikiti Tournament. Each year Fraser High School takes two Senior Teams and two Junior Teams to compete and enjoy a day of fun, food and singing.
