This year one of our Aiga Tasi Senior Student leaders, John Sione submitted a proposal to our Principal and Senior Executive Team to establish A1 Kutz which is a free Haircutting service for all our students at Fraser. We are pleased to inform you that his proposal was approved.
A1 Kutz is voluntary for all our students who would like to receive a free haircut. This is John's way of serving his peers and LEADing at Fraser.
John Sione is a talented up-and-coming Barber who has a passion for cutting hair and hopes to one day own his very own Barbershop. John has been practicing his craft for a few years and has gained some valuable experience working at Goodfellows Barbershop in Dinsdale.
Here are some of John’s reasons for setting up A1 Kutz:
- Share my talents to inspire other students to follow their passions and dreams
- Some of our students can’t afford a quality barbershop haircut as they are very expensive (Prices range between $20-$50)
- Hair cuts will be for free so all students can have access
- Continue to build my experience and confidence as an up and coming Barber/Hairstylist
If you wish to have your child receive a free haircut by John you must complete a permission slip which your child can collect from my office. The permission slip also has all the Health and Safety procedures to ensure our tamaiti are kept safe.
A1 Kutz by John Sione
Dates: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
Time: Break 1 and sometimes Break 2 (By Appointment Only)
Venue: Aiga Tasi Office in D Block
*All Haircuts are free of charge.
Please note that I will contact you via phone prior to the appointment to ensure proper consent has been given for your child to receive a haircut.
In many of our cultures and religious beliefs, hair is a sacred part of one's body. We treat this opportunity with the utmost respect for our tamaiti and value the mana each of them holds. All haircuts will be of appropriate and tidy standard.
We are grateful for John’s willingness to serve and share his talents. We are also grateful for the support from the Sione family
